I remember something about earth in boxes, not sure exactly the details. You could try making a clamp. We have grown Autumn King this year and I am reliably informed that you can actually leave these in the ground, which is what I shall be doing as the ones left are from a late sowing. Earlier sowings did not yield much and these have been eaten.

Hello Gordon and welcome to the Vine. I didn't know what to do with mine last year (Nante) so earthed them up a bit and left them in the ground until I needed them. They were fine.~
Aerodynamically the bumblebee shouldn't be able to fly, but the bumblebee doesn't know that so it goes on flying anyway.

Hello Gordon and welcome to the Vine! as you can probably tell we are a happy, friendly bunch who have lots of useful advice and tips on all things relating to GYO! I know someone will be able to answer your question, not me though! I only had a couple of rows of carrots - and have eaten them all! Delish! dexterdogBernie aka DDL
