Peas in a pot

Some of us grow peas in a pot on the kitchen windowsill to

a - provide a supply of fresh greens when the days are short and the nights cold
b - provide a nice topping to homemade pea soup
c - keep our twitchy fingers away from sowing other seeds too early.

I've popped a piccie below taken from the original thread. Not my piccie, I hasted to add.


Anyhow - I've had a couple of peas soups enhanced by mine, and I was trimming back some shoots that had died, and am going to pop a few new pea seeds into the pot. Whilst I was trimming, I noticed that one has flowered.

I have some just coming though. I tried them first when Supersprout mentioned them a couple of years back. This time I have used Leo's dried peas from the supermarket and they are germinating just fine lots cheaper than proper pea seeds.

I can.

Pop a lot of peas into a pot, shoulder to shoulder, add some compost to cover O put about an inch over the top], keep moist and warm and a few weeks later you should have one of the above.

Pick the pea tops and use in salads etc. I put mine into soups just before blitzing, as I then get blitzed fresh green bits on top of the soup as we eat it.

The peas will last about 2-3 pickings. As mentioned, I'm resowing mine today.
