What can is sow under cloches today?

Hello all, great forum.
I am awaiting delivery of my PoshCloche from ebay and was wondering what seeds I could sow under it now. It is very exciting to get ahead on the sowing. So far I thought I could put some early carrots under cloche?
Any other suggestion or tips would be appreciated.

Hi & welcome! Don't quote me on it cos I'm not that experienced but I would say you could put early lettuce in there, parsnips, leeks and spring onions may be. I'm sure you'll get loads of other suggestions.

Ohh. I had not thought about leeks. I never manage to get them big enough so this could be my chance.

When you get your cloches try popping them out for a week or so before you sow anything under them to give the soil a chance to warm up a bit, I popped mine out this weekend and next weekend I am going to sow some Early Nantes Carrots and some Winter Hardy Spring Onions . I am going to have a try at some Boltardy Beetroot under a fleece tunnel as well this year.

I was just going to say, don't forget to warm the soil up before you start sowing. Or start stuff of indoors and the transplant to your cloche.

I have a poly/cloche not put up at the moment.

It is ment to cool right down in cold old yorkshire again this week (sleet on wednesday apparently).

I was thinking of putting my cloche up tomorrow and planting some early nantes carrots out the following week. Should I leave it a few more weeks?
