Over the winter I have been gourging on onion sprouts ! (as you do!)

Does anyone know where I can by big bags of organic seed for a good price?

I bought a bag of onion seeds for sprouting...and have sown them for spring onions. They were T&M sprouting seed collection.

You'd go through a load of seeds if you are sprouting them......if you find anywhere really really cheap, do share!!!

You might want to try CN Seeds. They don't offer online ordering and their selection of organic seed is pretty limited, but from what I've seen their prices for other seeds that I have looked at are pretty good. From what I understand (I've never ordered from them.... yet.) they normally serve the wholesale/grower industry.

I don't know if these are cheap enough, but Charles Dowding recommends Tozer Direct on his website - they are a trade supplier but sell online, and you don't have to be a big-time market gardener to buy from them. The quantities are much larger than your typical home-grower supplier like Kings or Suttons. E.g. for Rijnsburger onions:

Kings: 300 seeds for 70p = 0.23p per seed
Tozer: 2,500 seeds for £2.35 = 0.094p per seed
or 10,000 seeds for £5.65 = 0.056p per seed

So that's less than half the price

Moles Seeds do a 100g of Sprouting Onion seed (non organic) for £3.80 (250g for £8.75) but you have to add £3.75 for delivery

100g = about 26000 seed = 0.015p per seed (0.029p per seed if you include the delivery charge)

Ordering a larger amount makes it even better value
