propergator help

Hi all
I have just started to grow my own and have purchased a propergator, last week I put some tomato seeds in to start them off early, they grew almost immiediately but have shot up thin and gangly. Do I remove them from the heated propergator and move them to an unheated propergator
I would be grateful for any advice anyone can give.

Welcome to the Vine, Bayleaf!

They should certainly come out of the heated propagator as soon as they show. I grow mine in pots with a poly bag over on the windowsill - they are really not in need of much heat. Don't move them to an unheated - take them out altogether. When you have true leaves coming, pot them on into individual pots and bury most of the stem too - they root from the stem. This will help with the legginess. Make sure they have lots of light and not too much heat, to get short, sturdy plants.

Never ceases to amaze me how quick tomatoes shoot up.

The only thing I would add is be carefull with any watering, you could lose them by overwatering.

My tomatoes are still in the propagator but I have taken the lid off so they get bottom heat and plenty of light.
