Am I the only one still waiting to start picking mine?
They seem almost there, but have done that for a couple of weeks.
I'm starting to doubt my own ability to decide the right time to make a start picking.

I've been picking mine for 2 weeks. Enough last night for 3 meals. Had to take some to the neighbours, and her face lit up at the sight of it!

oh ha ha. the vermin pigeons had mine. i didn't realise they needed to be netted after i transplanted them into my new plot last winter. I thought they had taken to the transplant badly, but a kind neighbour pointed out that the hoards of pigeons take anything that isn't protected by netting or shotgun.

I've just got my first boiling from Rudolph......and it aint venison! Rudolph is supposed to be the earliest PSB but I can't say it's particularily early...........but very welcome all the same.
I've just taken out the central spears so much more to come hopefully.

Guess what I'm having steamed with butter and pepper, for my supper...with some crusty bread and butter! Yum!!!

Mine's late too - cut seven central spears last week - from 200 plants. Wish it would get a move on as this hungry gap is hell on earth when it ciomes to making up my veg boxes.

Expecting mine in about a week, I check them about twice a day though!

At least it's not just me then, that cold weather we had must have put them back a bit to what we expect.

Same here - just starting to form flowerbuds. I weeded them at the weekend and bunged a bit of well-rotted manure on the bed, so I'm hoping that that plus the current sunshine will gee them up a bit!

In the meantime, we're happily eating sprouting Tuscan kale
