nettle tea

Hi
Can anyone help? I am looking to make some more nettle tea brew this year, but the pong was so bad last year drove our friends and family to despairDoes anyone know of any substance ie lavender (only said this as it smells nice) that will make it either smell better or neutralize it.
Any help needed, so I can keep my family happy and still grow lots of healthy vegetables, as it worked extremely well last year

This is to water/fertilize your growing veg I guess, am I correct

Sounds like good idea that I will try, got plenty of access to nettles. How long should I leave it to "brew" in the milk cartons before pouring in on to my plants? And should the spent nettles then be added to compost or thrown away?

No, you can't stop it ponging, but I stick a bit of wood on top of my bin and it keeps most of it locked away, only when I stir it do I smell it.
Anything solid that comes out of it Jilly can go in the compost.

And I didn't answer the rest of your questions either... I leave mine in there as long as I can, but the longer you leave it, I think the stronger it gets, mine seems to anyway. But the stronger it gets the darker it gets as well, which means if you dilute it to the colour of very weak tea, then it should be about alright.
I always make some at the end of summer in a 5 gallon tub and leave it over winter to "settle" , come spring and it would take the paint off a car, but the plants seem to like it.

Very smelly, leave as long as possible, dilute to weak tea colour, solids can be composted. :-)

I think it's true it gets stronger (and smellier) the longer you leave it, but as far as I know, you can start using it after leaving it stand for 24 hours - I'm not as organised as Womble, so I make it, take some out after a day or two and leave the rest to stand for a while.

Two Sheds' idea of making it in big milk cartons would allow you to make a few, maybe use one after a day or a few days, and leave others to stand and hopefully strengthen.
