I can recommend seeds of italy too, they have loads of seeds in each pack and lots of unusual varieties and they also send nice newsletters! I got some romanesca from them which is lovely - like a mixture between broccoli and cauli with beautiful greenish spirally pointed heads. Also got some paris market carrots but they're in the ground and not eaten any yet.
I also use garden organic b/c theyre postage costs are cheap (£1.25 for orders under £25) and they obviously do lots of organic seeds:-)

In case anyone's not mentionned them already, Real Seeds are great too, and specialise in seed for saving - so no F1 hybrids, and plenty organic seed in there too.

I have ordered from Seeds of italy and Nicky, they are both very good. The postal cost & the amount of seeds are reasonable, they offer many varieties of veggies/ flowers/ herbs both usual and unusual type with reasonable price plus they do business professionally.
The Real seeds and Alan Romans are also good ( a friend has recommended them for me ).
Go for them if you found anything you like...

Cracking site Two Sheds. Must have a look at it again in detail when I'm planning my orders. Thanks.

With bigger companies like T&M, you should be able to ask for your money back if germination is too poor. Hopefully the 'naming and shaming' from recent Which report will improve things.

Or you could just try a few local garden centres, that way you avoid the horrid postage charges they lump on you when you attempt to by a few pre-chitted potatoes...wounded i am, wounded!

We are supporting the local centre round the corner as much as possible, but obviously the variety is limited.

I tried Alan Romans this year, a small selection, very reasonably priced, but the cost is saved in packaging, the seeds come in tiny packets with no instructions. They've been a bother all year, tried to keep a filing system going and they were too small and kept falling out of place, then with no instructions I had to keep looking things up for planting guidance etc. If I had been more organised ie put them in a bigger envelope with the instructions on etc then it would have been fine, but I didn't.
