I have an area that id like to grow some veg in that looks like it needs a boost of something.Hard to explain. Its stony ground but that isnt the problem,it looks like it needs feeding i suppose.I dont know what to put on it.Is there a decent soil improver that anyone could recommend? Not too expensive. Its an area of approx 10 feet x12.

You should be able to get manure free from a local stables - you'll prob have to dig it and bag it yourself tho. If its not rotted enough, leave it in a pile to break down a little more... All depends how soon you want to use the ground i suppose...

B&Q do biggish bags of what they call 'Soil Improver', it is made from composted green waste rather than manure. It's a good option if you have no access to manure. Also, you could try ringing up your local council and ask them if they sell their own compost, it's often much cheaper than shop prices
