  • Spud Virgin.. what is the best type?

    Hey everyone..

I’m keen to grow potatoes on the patio using the sacks you can buy..

Does anyone have any advice as what type of potatoes would be best suited to this method or is the easiest to grow for a Spud Virgin?

Also I already have one of those pop up bins made out of a tough material.. could i use this? If so any tips?

    Thanks!

If you want to grow your potatoes in containers salad potatoes are best. Something like Charlotte will do well for you and be ready for eating about 13 weeks after planting.
Here's some of mine from last year.

There are loads of threads relating to growing spuds in containers. Use the search facility to help out.

As to the spud to grow - what sort of spuds do you enjoy eating and what do you do most with spuds? Answering those questions should start you on your way to choosing the best spud for you to grow.
