Hurray - 15 days since planting and I have germinated carrots

My Paris Market carrots took 20 days in the garden but I pre-warmed the soil with a polytunnel cloche and keep the cloche over them.

I had mine in a cloche too, and they still took about 4-6 weeks to sprout, depending on kind.

The carrots I sowed on 24th March under glass outside, started to show today - 12 days, while my earlier sowing using the very same seed packets in an adjacent and similar frame went in on 22nd Feb and started to show on the 10th March 16 days.

I thought the recent sowing was going to be much quicker - glad I checked that over.
Jiving on down to the beach to see the blue and the gray, seems to be all and it's rosy-it's a beautiful day!

Wey hey! I have Paris Market carrots. Looking like a good number of seedlings. No sign of the scarlet horn yet but looks like patience is key!

So glad i've seen this thread! I planted chanteney in toilet inners in my conservatory. My cat also used it as an assault course and stood in almost every one! I will give it a few more weeks before I give up on them...poor things!

                  Potty,
I feel your pain my dog took to curling up in my Pak Choi and Kale tubs to sleep in the day....

Sowed my colourful carrot seed approximately 6 - 7 weeks ago and only a few days ago have they begun to germinate.

Blimey, they took a long time. My carrots emerged after 2 weeks, but annoyingly the chickweed is racing up faster than they are.

Sowed loads of carrots and parsnips (and celeriac, fennel and spring and pickling onions) on 1st April, glad to see this thread as I was ever so despondent when I went to the plot last weekend and there was no sign! I've never successfully grown root veg before.

My cat sat on my tomato seedlings, once. They were fine. You need to harvest the kitty power. Their farts are very good germination aids...

I'm glad to see this thread too. Sowed my carrots a few weeks ago and have saw nothing. Rocket on the other hand is growing as are my onion & shallot sets.

Here's hoping for some better weather soon!

I found that carrots take about two weeks to pop up and another three weeks for some of them to disappear into thin air...or fat slugs.
Tried and Tested...but the results are inconclusive
