Follow up to Cucumber or Courgette

Frana - how long did your courgette and cucumbers take to germinate? Mine don't seem to want to pop up.

Took 13 days Nickerly.

Tried a different approach this time. Sowed them in peat pots under a standard propagator cover, and a few days after germination, put the whole thing into a 5'' pot with a good compost.

Been on my windowsill for a while but going to harden off for the plot soon.

I am no expert but I think the secret is warmth and a little bit of humidity in the early stages.

Works for me anyway.

Not too much humidity or they'll rot though! I tend to start both off without any heat but on the window ledge. Both are usually up within the week.

Ok, that's not too bad then - mine have only been planted for a week.
