I am going to try yellow french beans with my sweet corn and one butternut squash and see how i get on will let you know.

I tried it last year (but did 2 sisters instead as I was a bit late planting the corn) and can't say that I'll do it again. We didn't get any squash (but the leaves did keep the weeds down - so not all bad!) but the sweetcorn was fab. Having the squash in there made it more difficult to shore up the corn but that may just be my incompetence rather than the method...plus the weather wasn't great here (loads of rain on clay soil).

I plant sweetcorn,courgettes,and french beans in my bed.The first year the french beans wrapped tightly around the corn so for the next 2years I put in canes at the side of the corn and the beans climbed up them.This method worked well as I got all the benifits of the 3 sister planting and my corn doesnt get strangled!
