Having seen some pictures of other people's 'kitchen gardens', I thought I'd share mine. My Numex Twilight chilli, sown on 27th Dec, now has flower buds coming, as does one of the purple jalapenos (20th Jan). The orange bell and canape peppers (22nd Jan) also have buds. The hot lemons, chocolate habeneros and scotch bonnet are a bit further behind but look very healthy.
They have all been on my south-east facing window sill in 3in pots, so they got treated to an upgrade today, peppers in 6" pots, chillies in 5" ones. The sun was a bit fierce for them after their move, so I put the blinds down, but they soon recovered. My OH said the kitchen looks more like a greenhouse than a kitchen now . I'm intending they live there for a while longer. The ones taking their chance in the slightly heated greenhouse with plenty of fleece are looking good, the Numex Twilight has buds, but the others are not so far advanced.
The 'empty' pots contain french beans, Speedy, with the idea of cropping them inside. Once they come up and need bigger pots I'll probably move them up to the bedroom windowsill, which faces the same way.
