It was started by Two_Sheds, last summer.

If you go to the seed swap section, you can read about it and if you want to pop your name down, PM the person organising it and she will put your name on the list.
    Thanks.

I have only just found out how to find all of the comments I have posted, I couldn't remember which forums I had posted in!

I planted a salad burnet in my small herb bed on the lottie 2 years ago and let it fare for itself. It now behaves more like a rampant weed with young ones popping up all around the bed and on the path. Perhaps it likes cooler conditions to germinate.

        Chinese gooseberries

I had a jungles worth last year, from one old packet of seeds. They grew really well and I could not bear to thow any away. They looked great, but fruit wise I only got a few that were edible as had to have them all outside, millions of green ones but was hard to get them to mature properly in our terrible summer. I am sure they would love a greenhouse or maybe hot summer this year! They get really quite big by the way, so you'd need a fair bit of room if you were planning using a whole seed packet!

It was a couple of years ago, but I don't remeber having any problems with them except them being huuuge!
I'm trying some tomatillo's this year! How 'huuuuge' do they grow and is it a huge width or a huge height Sarz?

in my case it's too small to be seen without an electron microscope

Mine grew about 4-5 ft tall, but could easily have reached 6-7 ft wide....and that was outdoors so in a polytunnel could easily get much bigger. I ended up having to chop it all back as it was mental. And I believe you really need 2 for pollenation. Went particularly mental around August time, just when you need your time and focus on tomatoes [in my opinion].

Yeah, but to be honest I'd have got 4 or 5 toms in each space; and I oven dry/passata my toms making a 'better' return on the space...if it wasn't for blight of course - tomatillos don't get blight. I started eating the tomatillos earlier than I should by putting them into any tomato based cooked dishes.

would you grow them again Zazen, or stick to toms?

No, they look good but I have to maximise the space.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed growing them the first year...but if space is limited then I've got to be practical.

I didn't think my cape goosegogs were going to germinate as they took so blinkin long so i emptyed the compost out, know you shouldn't do it but i reused it and now i have the little blighters coming up all over the place in with my other seeds!!doh.
When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant. ~Author Unknown
