I've got a friend who has a rabbit's tail nailed to a stick, sbp...I think it's a case of "do what works". Although the old posh gardening books all seem to mention "an artist's sable brush".
I'm sure I've heard of people using elasticated pressure bandages of the sort used for varicose veins for grafting, with considerable success.
What I want to know is, are there any specific mixes of scions and rootstocks that will or will not work if I graft a tomato onto a potato haulm ? I hadn't planned on doing this, but it does appeal to my sense of native Aberdonian thrift...

There's no point reading history if you don't use the lessons it teaches.

What diseases do your chillies get, Herby?

Mine have all been lovely up until the first frost, whereas my tomatoes succumb to blight in August.

I tried that rabbits tail nailed to a stick. But for some reason the rabbits kept expiring before I could get the stick as far down as the tail.

Please ignore everything I say, I make it up as I go along, not only do I generally not believe what I write, I never remember it either.

Two_Sheds. None as yet as they are all in doors (first season growing) but this little experiment will just be interesting to see what happens.

Ok, I have just grafted one tom and one chilli, I hope I done it right but we will see what happens of the next for critical days, or even the next 24-48hrs.
