Rowan, I have a few pics in my album from last year of my garden (in its 5th year) it will look totally different again this year as I have been doing lots more work. My garden had nothing in it except some established and very overgrown trees and lots of concrete and rubbish. Take a look and see if there is something you can see that I can advise you on. Must admit it isn't a full view of my garden. Need to add some more pics this year!

whay i was thinking was for the left side whn looking out the door is making a border going most of the way down and plant large shrubbery so it can cover the crap fencing with flowers at the front, the divide the garden into 3 sections, at the bottom of the garden i wouldn't mind like a wildlife area, then the middle section do like herbs ands veg, and leave the last section for the lawnBlessed Be

Ok, you could put some Laurel or similar down the left side to cover the fence, after a few years you could shape it, so it becomes the fence if you know what I mean. You might be able to repair the fence with some timber if you have any to tidy it up in the meantime whilst you're waiting for the shrubs to grow. I only built my wildlife pond last year (in a day) I dug out part of the lawn and then put in some pond liner (cost about £20) it's about 7' x 5' and then edge with stone (which I've got loads of in the garden) you could just place the grass back over it as an edging if you want. You can make log piles and insect boxes for the wildlife area also. You could build raised beds for the veggy bit (scaffold boards or decking boards) if you can get some free all the better! Whatabout an archway from the lawn leading to the rest of the garden (metal one - Wilko's do them cheap) and growing a climber up each side. If you can get cuttings from family or friends etc then I would advise you to do this. You could grow a few flowers from seed also. Check out the seed swap forum. Depends how much of a budget you're on, do you have a local Freecycle group? I noticed the Leylandii trees (are they can't see clearly from pics) on the right? If you don't need get rid, they're ok at the bottom of the garden but they really dry out the soil and are a pain in the backside in a smaller garden. Hope this helps

I was thinking about getting couple of archways, and getting some climbing flowers to grow on/over them, luckily i get alot of different plants from my mum, so that makes it abit cheaper. i'm not going to do a pond, in the wildlife area. Yes the trees are on the right, here's a idea of how i want the garden to look like hahaAttached FilesBlessed Be

Perhaps some chickens.....? careful they're addictive!Never test the depth of the water with both feet
