Leeks overwintered

I am brilliant, that's my opinion and I am sticking to it

Last year in Sept, I sowed spring onions and leeks in the unheated greenhouse. SO's have been a success and the leeks are coming on nicely, about pencil thickness now. See, brilliant idea!
Suddenly yesterday I realised that as overwintered leeks, even though they were tiny seedlings, they might suddenly decide that this year is their "going to reproduce year" and go straight to seed.

So has anyone sowed their leeks at the end of the previous year and what happened?

I've never done that Womble, but you could be right - they'll have 'noticed' that they've had a winter already... Guess you'll just have to wait and see, but I'd sow some back up seeds if I was you, just in case

Thanks I was planning on sowing some more this week anyway, as I've got some new seeds from realseeds. It's just planning how much space to give the overwintered seedlings in the main bed that's the problem, if I give them too much and they all run to seed, it seems a bit of a waste.
