    They grew well enough.
However they seem to be riddled with holes.
Each hole is about the width of a drinking straw.
I have grow spuds on this plot for many years, Charlotte of late, none has had such a bad infestation. Dug two roots yesterday and when preparing for pan had to chop out about 50%, some were unusable.
    1) Any idea what causes it, I don't think it's slugs.
    2) Is this Rocket suseptable.
    3) Is the the weather.
    4) Is it the time of planting.
    5) Any way to prevent.
    Thanks

Probably slugs. Other things like spuds too though. I once had couch grass roots growing through my spuds - it was in a year like this when rain was scarce. I think the roots were seeking the moisture in the potato.

No it's not grass and I don't think it's slugs.
What else makes neat narrow bore holes ?

From your description I would suspect that keel slugs have been enjoying your Rocket.
Wireworm would make much smaller holes in the potatoes.

I've had a bit of slug damage to my rockets but still got a good crop. Lifted them all now and they averaged about 2lb per seed tuber. Could have left them in longer but I wanted the space for turnips.

I was wondering if the rockets were more susceptible or if it's my slug infested garden. The vivaldis appeared to have survived better.

                    Are there slug resistant potatoes?
