Good luck with your seed hunt at the garden centre, have just got back from ours and it's turned into santa's grotto - seeds are in a tiny space at the back and only a very small selection. Did get a couple of half barrels cheap in the sale though and they'll look great with a bean wigwam in them next year so not all lost.
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
Organic gardening order arrived on Thursday, well most of it. Horseradish thongs not dispatched until spring. Also awaiting Alan Romans 4th edition potato guide.
Tuckers catalogue arrived same day. May look into getting seeds for sprouting from them. Linseed looks interesting.
You should all note that due to the new regulations on postage now, many companies have increased their own postage. Think T&M has gone up a bit, i'm off to my local wyvale later to see if i can get the ones i want from the shop instead.
Very Annoyed, Only a small selection of seeds available, as you say bl@@dy Santa's grotto. winter wonderland..!! Bulbs all shoved in one corner, composts in hiding, books hidden. All very depressing, and to top it all "walking in a winter wonderland" playing over the tanoy system.
Left in a mood. And now i'm having a numpty moment trying to get T&M website to work so a can get my seeds that way. Really must be thick cannot find the checkout or basket to see my selections anywhere.
Wanted some seeds and stuff from the fruit catalogue but am on the verge of giving up and having to use my last stamp. So much for technology. BAA HUMBUG.
I guess those who have web sites thought they wouldn't need to spend money on catologues as well, must say my T&M one came quick enough and I've never had cause to complain about the big companies service, maybe I'm lucky.
Never had any problems with T&M seeds but have had a couple of big rows with them over their plant deliveries. Some years ago they were very late with a delivery of some canna bulbs (or are they tubers?) which then turned up, the wrong varieties and totally dried out. Eventually got my money back but it took several phone calls. Must have forgotten about that as ordered off them again this year, got some dead geranium plug plants (at least they were on time!) and the sweet potatoes were about a month late. Mind you, customer service is improving, only took one phone call this year. May have been unlucky but won't be using them again.

Hi Veg Mad
I eventually ordered a few different veg seeds from Real Seeds and the service was very quick/efficient. Hopefully the seeds will perform just as well. Not sure about posting phone numbers but you could always pm me as I've never heard of edwin tucker.
I've been growing veg and flowers for quite a few years now, but I do like to have a paper catalogue (or several) to browse through, even if it's only to pick out new varieties to try.
Websites are very quick and easy to use if you know what you are looking for, but I do like to try new varieties each season, along with the tried and tested. Also seed catalogues are much better bedtime reading than War & Peace!!
I always make a huge list of things to buy, then have to go through again and cross out the ones I haven't room for and the ones I'm not really sure about, and then the ones I really can't afford, but it's enjoyable. Technology is very efficient, but it's taking a lot of the enjoyment out of life. (Apart from the vine which I am getting seriously addicted to)
