seed potato help!

Hello,

I need some help. I'm afraid I forgot about some seed potatoes and didn't put them on the window ledge to chit. They've been in a closed box and of course when I opened it today they have long gangly shoots!

Now, should I plant them out like this, or rub of the gangly shoots and hope that they chit again? Wouldn't the seed have used up most of its energy? Have I wasted them?!!

That should not be a problem just rub the gangly bits of and plant them and when you dig them up later in the year you will have forgot all about it....jacob

Thanks for the reply. So, I can rub the shoots off and plant them right away without waiting for new shoots?

Thats the idea as long as they are in nice damp soil they will come good....jacob
