Iv'e always removed these as they have grown as I thought they were flowers starting to form! You learn something new every day.I dont think I'd fancy eating at his house...dogs nose in everything LOL.

thanks for this info.....i came on here to search about garlic flowering, and watched this video the other day. went back to the lottie last night and i have 5 scapes now...all bending and curling as per the video, so will take them off this morning!. might be brave and try them!.
