Cheese and mice you had me worried there! I've never done anything to peas other than sticking them in the ground.

Well- I've only grown them twice before- the first ones rotten ( cold wet clay soil)..and most of the other batch were eaten by mice!!!

My first lot were good. I sowed some the following year only to have them eaten by mices, and last years were a bit rubbish.

If you want to use proper muck, put some manure into a bucket of water and allow it to settle. The nutrients will leach out into the water, which you can use as a feed.

I've sown mine in nodules, though, as I can guarantee they'll be nibbled before you can say 'pea soup'.
