  • Onions from Bulbs

    Real newbie question here.

I went to the Garden Center and got a variety of seeds. For onions they recommended bulbs (Look like small onions) so I got those. Planted them according to the verbal directions.

So here's the stupid question. Will each bulb yield multiple onions or does the small bulb just become one big onion?

    Thanks

The bulbs are called sets and will produce one onion from each. However, just to confuse you, shallots and garlic will produce several bulbs or cloves respectively from one set.

except that the cloves of garlic are all held together as one bulb (usually)
