bean/pea netting

I've built a frame for my sweetpeas to grow up, which i want to cover with netting, but also need to stretch some netting between a couple of canes for some dwarf peas to grow up as well. I picked up, from Wilkos, "garden netting" which has a 15mm (3/4") mesh. I know regular pea/bean netting has a bigger mesh, so my question is... can i use this garden netting for this or do i need to get the proper bean/pea netting?

I had a spare bobbin of thread and just span it up my frame and did a bit of creative upping and downing (all technical terms of course!) with it and the peas are climbing up it just fine. Things that climb want to climb and will take any helping hand without fretting too much about whether it's the proper thing or not so don't worry I say.

I've grown peas up all sorts of different netting - they only have little tendrils and they'll hook around just about anything. So don't worry, just use whatever you've got

I have used the Wilko netting for my peas. The only thing I would say because it is a finer mesh make sure you put the frame and net on the side away from the plants, otherwise the actual netting causes to much shade.

You're right Two Sheds, they don't much, but mine are certainly lazy enough to need all the support they can get, or they will lie about longer than teenagers ! (Who, as we all know and believe, have a different brain structure and circadian rhythm, causing this lifestyle. )

In addition, the short circuiting of the neurons and firing of new synapses is the reason for mucho moodiness, door slamming and communicating in grunts by teenagers
