  • Tumbling Tom Tomato Question

Hi, I have grown some Tumbling Tom tomatoes from seed. They are now planted up in hanging baskets and are full of flowers, however they are SO big! I saw some at a garden centre yesterday and they were low and branching out where as mine are like bushes(tall and bushy). Will they be ok? Is it normal?

Hi can anyone answer the above please. Sorry to be a pain but wondering whether to go and buy some to replace them.

I grow some from seed too and one is tall and bushy and the others more tumbling. Either way if they are covered in flowers they'll produce tomatoes. You might find when they are weighed down with fruit them tumble a bit more

The weight of the toms will pull it down in time... Last year when I sowed them I had the same, but by the end of the season they looked just the same...

I grew the yellow ones from very late sowed seed and was overwhelmed with them! I meant to get the red ones this year but got carried away with old varieties.
