Don't forget peeps, that you can always leave them to go to seed, shell them like peas and freeze, they make a tasty change for not only in soups, hotpots ext,but a veg in their own right, like butter beans
sigpicAnother nutter ,wife, mother, nan and nanan, love my growing places, seed collection and sharing, also one of these

Grew 8 plants just for me last year, but then again a favourite snack of mine is steamed runners with a bit of butter and garlic, will happily ear this in the afternoon then have runners for dinner as well.....
      Another happy Nutter...

Yes, they are. I tried a few last year in pot againts a trellis and got a reasonable, although not outstanding, crop - very tasty though.

My original plan for this year was only to do the Hestias in a bed with supporting wires, but then I decided to try my sweetcorn in a Three Sisters bed, hence adding the Achievements to my list.

I'm actually trying two lots of the Three Sisters, one outside and one in big growbags at the back of the greenhouse. When the greenhouse one has finished cropping I might bung some peas in there too.

We had about 40 plants, which was definitely more than two could eat, despite freezing and a batch of runner bean chutney. It will be 2 batches of 8 this year, sown at least a month apart!
