  • I cropped two large bags full of sprouts on their stalks today. I gave a couple to a friend, along with a cabbage, and took the rest home to freeze. So far I've peeled, blanched and frozen a pressure cooker full of them and I expect to have at least another three pressure cooker fulls with the rest of them. I still have a few plants growing on the lottie, but whether I'll crop them of not depends on how much room is left in the freezer once this lot has been done. The sprouts on the remaining plants aren't as big as the ones I harvested today though.

Why bother blanching ? I just clean them up give them a good wash dry then chuck in bags in the freezer......then they go into boiling water from frozen until cooked but still firm .........

                  • Not posted on here for ages but harvested a large cabbage, carrots, kale and swede yesterday Am thinking that we'll need to make a concerted effort on the frozen stuff soon as the freezer still has loads of bags of peas, beans, courgettes etc etc which we've hardly touched as the winter vegs have done so well with it being so mind.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?
