                    • This lunchtime was my first day back to the plot since Sunday, as I was away for work and I deliberately didn't harvest on Monday so today's haul would be an extra good one.

It's was a great one! 5 cucumbers, an enormous patty pan and about 4 smaller ones, 10 courgettes, an armful of spinach and Swiss chard, 2 jalapeño peppers, a handful of asparagus peas (first to be harvested), lots of purple French beans and a few yellow ones too. A bunch of radishes. I also ate a couple of 'nearly there' cucamelons. Mine have taken ages to swell and a few were almost ready today...and I couldn't wait any longer.

I've been eying the recipes for pickled courgette and courgette chutney with glee as I think I finally have a sufficient glut of them to give both recipes a go!

                              • OH picked 4 lbs of tomatoes for me when I was at work - passata here we come! Runner beans and french beans are hugely productive at the moment and after yesterday's rain, lots more to come. We've had one cob so far RL, hopefully more today. Only trouble with all this 'bounty' - I've got to do things with it - too much to eat!
