        Plus:

A bunch of sweet peas and gladioli, a courgette "Black Prince", my first runner beans of the year "Czar", cucumbers "Cornichon de Paris", four normal sized and one which I missed and which has grown into an overripe monster!

I have cooked and eaten it straight away, in the interests of research of course.
I just clean them of all the hairs bung em in a bag and freeze them, the quicker you do this the better. The ones I did like this last year were fanbloodytastic.

If your going to eat them straight away then don't bother cooking them, they are gorgeous raw.

                    • A lollo rosso that was threatening to bolt, and two spring onions that were left over from preparing the ex-onion bed to be a mustard greens and kohl rabi bed.
Is there anything that isn't made better by half an hour pottering in the veg patch?

                      • Finished work at five. Quick change of clothes and in the garden. OH digging all the old roofs out of new flower boarder ready for the log rolls to be fitted at the weekend. I tided up the weeds from the greenhouse and potted a few plants up. Now off to pick up a Pizza Hut!

                          • Despite not doing as well as hoped this first year I harvested some large courgettes, raspberries and runner beans from the allotment and potatoes, rhubarb, tomatoes and herbs from the garden. All went towards dinner 😋

                              • Fantastic haul Dorothy!

Today I harvested a handful of raspberries (the netting has made an immediate and wonderful difference), a handful of peas, chives, mint, nasturtium flowers and undersized dwarf beans (undersized even for dwarf beans!).
