        • Last Saturday I harvested all of the shoots on the calabrese and was going to pull the plants out, but ran out of time. This morning, with that as one of the jobs on the list to do if I had time, I found these:

There are 12 shoots, most of them about 2 inches across, from 2 plants! Variety is Sakura, and they were planted in April for a summer crop. They produced one large head each (5-6 inches across) in July and this is the 3rd decent crop of sideshoots since.

Another 5lbs of tomatoes into the freezer. Had to turf out last year's raspberries to make room for them all - now I have to turn them into jam
