This could be cheating slightly but I picked a whole load of nettles and made some utterly gorgeous nettle soup!

Also stewing it for plant food.

Considering making nettle beer too, if I can free up some bottles!

Well I have been using my tarragon for some nice Chicken brests, chives for potatoe salad, Moroccan Mint for some lamb chops and some Black Peppermint for a nice tasty hot drink.

As this is my first full year I have not had any vegetales yet other than some leeks but I am very excited about the prospect of cooking up a storm with all my Vegetables.

Nice thread and here's to a bumper year of Vegetables to everyone!

today i picked what felt like a million dandelions and started off my dandelion wine; then flushed with the success of that i harvested some leeks and made leek andpotato soup....and then....wait for it.....I picked some of the GH broad beans, and one, yes one (!!) pea from the ones in the GH........not enough to do anything with it of course but it did feel hugely satisfying I have to tell you!!

last night picked fresh coriander off the windowsill (the fragrance wafted around the house, loverly) and some cut and come again salad.

There are flower buds on the toms and the courgettes. Yay!

Harvesting chilli's already ! I kept back one of last years plants, gave it a severe haircut and kept it on a west facing windowsill above a radiator. Been fruiting for a few weeks now !

Today I harvested my first big handful of coriander [lamb curry tonight].

Sadly I also harvested possibly my last bowl of PSB as I cannot seem to stop it going to flower no matter how much I pick. I've never grown PSB before and only did so because it was a novelty to me, early to produce and highly expensive in the shops. What a revelation - so tasty - how do you go back to shop bought 'broccoli' after that?

But dont you think that when it goes to flower it is really worthy of putting into the flower vase, when in full bloom I think it looks great.

Oh and I was eating salad leaves and garlic scapes today.

Yesterday we harvested Rhubarb and mint, and Mr D spotted what he thought was a volunteer onion in one of the paths, so pulled it and I had it with tea tonight (minted lamb chops and couscous with salad, followed by Rhubarb crumble), only problem, it wasnt an onion, but a garlic plant, needless to say I had garlic breath all night!

The Rhubarb crumble was lovely, rhubarb stewed with cider, but Lee forgot to add any sugar, so was very............Taaaaaaart!
