  • Picked a large head of celery which went into soup for lunch. Then took doggy for a walk and picked one and a half pounds of sloes. I know some people say you should wait till they've been frosted but you can't do that round here or somebody else would have them. Chopped up some cooking apples and made a nice jelly/jam.

                          • leek, celery, swede and carrots to make a hearty vegetable broth. This is our comfort food and we need it after the weather we've had up here recently. Thankfully our garden is on a gentle slope and the water drains off but we did have a new pond yesterday!!

                            • Just cropped the first lot of Oca, a mix of the red and orange. Tonights dinner is Aberdeen Angus sausages, carrots, broccoli, roasted tatties and Oca. If nothing else my dinner plate will be colourful

                              • I harvested my first batch of Pak choi and Salad endive yesterday and it was so fresh and lovely. It has been helped along by all the heavy rain we've been having lately.
