            • I've just had lunch of freshly harvested, cucumber (garden type- small but tasty), radishes, lettuce, beetroot, spring onions (which I had forgotten were there as they were hiding under the beet foliage, and tomatoes. Fresh homemade bread too. I've never had a full salad this late in the year before.
We have also today harvested 5 Morrisons buckets of cooking apples ready for me to process tomorrow when they give bad weather.

                      • Before we left Italy I had to harvest everything that was left. So we lived on Toms and beans (not a good combination) and left the earth to sleep ready for next year.

a weird rugby ball that turned out to be a squash (someone sent me self-saved squash seeds)
2 more Lemon Drop chillies (I brought the plant onto a south-facing windowsill and the fruits are now ripening rapidly). Hmmm, do I have room for all 12 chilli plants?
