The last of the potatoes, the last of the runner beans, 2 pumpkins, sweet corn, beetroot which I swapped for onions and cooking apples with a lottie neighbour
The potatoes are not very big as I put them in really late and wanted them up before the slugs got them... still they mack lovely mash potatoes
I've just had lunch of freshly harvested, cucumber (garden type- small but tasty), radishes, lettuce, beetroot, spring onions (which I had forgotten were there as they were hiding under the beet foliage, and tomatoes. Fresh homemade bread too. I've never had a full salad this late in the year before.
We have also today harvested 5 Morrisons buckets of cooking apples ready for me to process tomorrow when they give bad weather.
Last of the cucumbers red toms green toms snowball turnip leeks french beans runner beans and some lovely mushrooms whilst walking the dogs this morning
Before we left Italy I had to harvest everything that was left. So we lived on Toms and beans (not a good combination) and left the earth to sleep ready for next year.
6 big fat gherkins, ahem, cucumbers
3 patty pans
a weird rugby ball that turned out to be a squash (someone sent me self-saved squash seeds)
2 more Lemon Drop chillies (I brought the plant onto a south-facing windowsill and the fruits are now ripening rapidly). Hmmm, do I have room for all 12 chilli plants?
A handful of Toms that are ripening nicely in the GH...........About 20 Spring onions (more like pickled onions).....6 Beetroot & yet another parsnip of the Caribbean (forked to h*ll so looks more like a snowball turnip)
