                      • Some new potatoes, chives, mint, salad leaves, and best of all my first ever harvest of peas. All will be eaten for tea tonight with a chicken breast from the local farm shop. Oh and my first raspberry of the season. Delish.

                          • You may have seen my post about being a proper divvy and planting full garlic bulbs instead of separating the cloves DOH!
Well one appeared to be dying so I pulled it and got a very wonky looking bulb with 3 small cloves in it. They were about the size of my thumb nail but I duly peeled then and fried them with some chicken and then some stir fried veg and yum yum very sweet and delicious and quite pungent too.
Out of my 3 bulbs this one was the most pathetic. My other 2 appear to have split underground and sprouted and are pushing the stems apart so I'm hopeful that I may get another small but tasty crop after all.
Its nice to be important but its more important to be nice

                              • Well not quite today, but yesterday, picked 3.5KG of gooseberries and 1.5 kg of strawberries and made gooseberry and strawberry jam (combined). I was quite amazed to see the gooseberries turn red when boiled even before any red fruit was added. Tastes great and is my version of a recipe by HFW.
