Today I Mostly Harvested......

mange tout, peas, 3 round courgettes, 1 yellow courgette, 3 pak choi (only because they bolted... I think they are supposed to be bigger than the ones I picked today), 5 turnips, handful of cherries, 2.5 lbs of gooseberries that I made into jam.

Potatoes, broadies, french beans, cabbage and the first proper pick of peas. I am growing Telephone peas and they are 7ft tall and flowering and podding like mad - yummmy!

a 200g coffee jar is now full of my own dried marjoram/oregano (it was cut, hung in bunches from the g/h roof, then scrunched into a large bowl. Picked twigs & spiders out, the jarred)

i emptied my first sack of swift potatoes, very pleased!
and harvested my first ever courgette! it was a beaut!

Lots of salad leaves and all of my early crop of spuds - about 20lb in all - all nice and safe hanging in the pantry in a cloth bag...roll on the pak choi!

Our first runner beans will be ready soon - the biggest of them is about four inches long! Today I picked some spring onions and two very sorry looking courgettes, which were succumbing to blossom end rot so I thought I might as well salvage what I could. The courgettes went in a chicken curry, and the spring onions were chopped up and sprinkled onto the curry when I served it up!

Today I picked five green courgettes, four yellow ones ( well I think thats how many I picked ) the glut has started, another pound and half of raspberries, radish and rhubarb. Friday we picked the same amount of courgettes and raspberries plus dug up red duke of york spuds, onions and red onions. And picked yet more everlasting sweet peas, gave three bunches away.

My first EVER radishes today! Four of them YAY cant wait until my salad tomorrow with my CCA leaves also picked today!

Oh and I picked my ONE gooseberry yesterday! There is definately something wrong with the bush... Quite a lot of the leaves have dropped off and are spotty on the branches and no fruit, apart from the one I picked (and ate straight away!)

Picked a load of broad beans, a punnet of peas a red onion a few raspberries and some tayberries. Probably would have got more stuff but i picked in the morning instead of the aternoon today as the weather foercast was so bad

Took home a nice Toscana De Nero kale that had been blown over by the heavy winds. It twas a nice bit of greenery with the sunday dinner!
