  • Whilst waiting for the overhead irrigation in the tunnel to water the half of the tunnel that isn't full of toms and cukes, I picked another 4 cukes, lifted half a dozen large beetroot Cylindra and then picked another 5 kg strawbs. Just waiting on my punnets to arrive then will have a marathon pick for selling.

          • (last weekend)
one whole potato bag of Int Kidney (got enough for one meal only, but they were nice); a few raspberries, a sad dried strawberry, a slug-munched gooseberry (new to fruit this year) - and my first ever cucumber from the new greenhouse!! Plus first courgettes - one large and 3 small...
Forgot to harvest the broad beans and the purplepod peas - still waiting for the first tomato
            Isn't harvesting fun!?!

                  • A huge amount of broad beans which were delicious although I did pod them then cook then shell them as they were a bit tough but still yummy.
Also some baby courgettes and sugar snap peas.
Now chopped all my broadies down to ground level all but a few stalks that still have some pods on them. Blackfly has invaded big style though despite my nipping off the tops.
Its nice to be important but its more important to be nice

                        • Last night had a salad which consisted of 2 types of home grown lettuce, cherry tomatoes, the first cucumber, radish, sweet peppers, herbs and a lovely dressing made from my own raspberry vinegar. Oh yes, also picked a few pounds of peas, some mange tout and harvested some more raspberries, broad beans and potatoes.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

                          • 104 Raspberries today (I don't count them every time I pick, just when I haven't got the radio on?) and a handful of the first ripe Blueberries, and I'm just about to go outside and pick 'a shed-load' of rather too large courgettes to make a Courgette Teabread or ten....

                              • My first Wapsipinicon Peach tomato, unusual taste, but I'll let the rest get a bit riper to test various stages of flavour.
