              • Yesterday, 1 celeriac, which I turned into celeriac and potato gratin. Yum. More parsnips and leeks at the weekend, for roasting and soup. Lots left still, so have started using leeks instead of onions in lots of recipes to use them up!

I counted mine today. I've got 27 left. I love leeks, but that left me cold!

Also picked some Brussels and perpetual spinach.

And got some gooseberries out of the freezer for breakfast tomorrow.

                    • Leeks too! Coming to the end of them now. I popped a few in anywhere I had empty space at the plot, rather than 'waste' them. Many are quite slender but perfectly OK for soup and casseroles. Maybe one more harvest next weekend and that will be the lot.

                        • Leeks and Kale for us this weekend.

Leeks went into Leek and tarragon mash, to go with poached smoked haddock served with whole grain mustard.

Kale - with Chorizo, garlic and toasted almonds (Nigel Slater)

                          both very yummy!!

                          • Got some kale and leeks on the way to work this morning. Left them in the car, so looking forward to breathing in the pungent leeks when I leave for home tonight.

                            • While digging around and tidying today found quite a few good sized onions and a few pencil leeks which will make a great soup.

Also found a few strawberry plantlets that had set so that's more strawberry plants to put in the bed when ready.
