Today I Mostly Harvested......

More leeks, brussels, kale and carrots.

Hopefully within a week or so I'll have some winter salad leaves and PSB. Fingers crossed.

Baby leaves of spinach,chard & rocket from my outside window boxes.

Some Swiss Chard I'd forgotten about from the garden, and some experimental overwintering carrots. Delighted about them!

Made the mistake of going to the plot before work - wanted to stay there all day!

Picked some brussell sprouts. The sprout tops look good too.

Some perpetual spinach. Decided I need to eat more of this.

The first of my broccoli, taken the tops out to encourage side shoots, yum!

overwintered baby spinach wilted with mint spring and rested on toasted crusty roll - hmmm

5 lovely straight (for once) parsnips, bit of canker on a few though.

Still more parsnip - for a lunchtime soup and a roasted veg dinner.

Rhubarb - I'm sure I've never picked it this early before except when I forced it (that sounds bad!), but I'm not complaining! There's loads!

I managed to pick some rhubarb as well and it wasn't forced. It was made into a delicious apple and rhubarb crumble for pudding tonight and wasn't at all sour. I didn't even have to add sugar to the fruit

Got my first rhubarb and PSB of the season Sunday.

Also picked winter salad, spinach, leeks, curly kale and carrots, and used a squash from store.

I was a very happy man!
