        • A couple of Kohl Rabi. Just the size of a golf ball. Chopped the stem and boiled, and chopped the leaves and boiled. Like turnips and spring greens on the sunday lunch.

Only wish I started growing my own years ago, you get such a buzz from eating what you have grown from seeds.

                          • Dinner time

Three beetroot and four carrots (why thin before edible?!) and a couple of dozen sugar snap peas. Will roast the former with de-boned chicken legs and will steam the latter. Happy eating.

                            • Peas and a handful of new potatoes from the lottie and carrots and cabbage from the garden. I have discovered that if you don't dig up new potatoes but furtle gently round them you can lift enough for a meal and leave the rest to keep growing
