7lbs broadies - not bad for the first pick! still loads of beans to mature and another 6 rows of later sown ones. Yum, I love broadies and they're so expensive to buy
Also, nicola potatoes, lettuce and sugar snaps

    • 3rd batch of Broadbeans and biggest harvest yet! 18 plants transplanted to a 1mx1m plot planted through weed suppressant fabric. Just under half the plant's left to mature.

            • Our first chillies of 2011 (hot cayenne), butterhead lettuce as they're starting to crowd out the shallots, tonnes of sugarsnaps again, the last of the garlic scapes, yellow and stripy courgettes.

                • Last night I harvested the first 3 massive leaves of my first ever homegrown swiss chard. Absolutely gorgeous.

We had the stalks and leaves in a stir fry, having blanched both before frying. Lovely! The bunnies had some too (raw swiss chard that is, not stir fry!) and we all very much enjoyed it.

                    • Today my first potatoes (Rocket). Lifted one plant and got 3 and half pounds of potatoes. Also picked peas, bored beans, raspberries, lettuce, a courgette and beetroot.

                      • We're having a stir fry for tea so I've picked courgettes, mooli, spring onions, chives, kale and a couple of sweet peppers that were on a broken stem.

                          • 200g of baby turnips after leaves removed. Had them in a tomato and garlicy stew with cous cous and cabbage.

Delicious. Some were a bit bitter but no idea why.
