Today I Mostly Harvested......

  • Yesterday picked a good variety of french beans, enough for a meal and some for the freezer. Courgettes & a lovely cabbage. Another cucumber and a couple of tomatoes.
    Took a couple of buckets of weeds and swiss chard leaves for the chucks.

    • 5 1/2 lbs Charlottes from one of the front garden tubs, runner beans, carrots, lettuce, cucumber, radish, tomatoes, beetroots, spring onions and a couple of nasturtium flowers (if they count!!) a few strawberries, and Discovery eating apples.

        • Well I will preface this by saying I have been working late and haven;t got to harvest anything for about a week.

          6 courgettes each weighing over 2lb's.... not really courgette's anymore lol
          4.3kg of Cobra french beans to blanch and freeze.
          19kg's of Greengages I am glad i got the week off for Jam making.
          2.1kg of Aaran pilot tatties from a bucket.

          • Another Candid Charm cauliflower - 1kg in weight being frozen, with the leaves being given to my bunnies. I had enough left over leaves from the last cauliflower that I took them to my friend who runs a rabbit and guinea pig rescue.

            • We pulled some beetroot, not big but enough to make some pickle out of them. Another punnet of blackberries, some chard, purple spuds and shelly beans. Also more of those nasty little bitter little cucumbers. I can't grow cucumbers

                      Shallots - drying
                      Onions
