  • Same as the 26th-
    "Rocket, oriental mustard, pak choi, mizuna, parsley, lovage and some other unidentifiable leaves. Even less identifiable now as I've eaten them".

    • Baby carrots that have been in the tunnel over winter. Well pleased as was the goat who got the tops.

      He's called Arthur for those of you who like to know these things and he's 12.

              • half a dozen remaining leeks from the garden and a carrier bag each of Purple Sprouting and White Sprouting broccoli, both of which have gone mental on the allotment over the last couple of weeks. Went well with tonight's roast pork...just thinking, everything on our plate tonight was out of the garden or lottie except the pig, including some roast Maris Pipers, although I noticed a few of those in the sack in the shed have now got tiny sprouts on them. I'll do what I did last year with the ones that sprout too much - frozen mash!

                      • Sunday - I harvested all the veg for Sunday lunch (potatoes and squash harvested last autumn)

                        8:20am started digging, scrubbing, peeling and cooking, we sat down to dinner at 1:25pm = 5 hrs on my feet cooking Sunday lunch! it was a feast by boy that's a long time in the making!

                        Mixed roast root veg which included Crown Prince squash, celeriac, JA's, Parsnips, and carrots,
                        Roast potatoes - in goose fat
                        kale -Curly and Nero di Toscana
                        Celeriac mash
                        home grown and made horseradish sauce
                        Yorkshire puddings
                        Beef from the local farmers market
                        .....and for dessert - first of the Rhubarb lightly stewed served with a mix of creme fraiche and cream

                              • 8 spring onions!!!! Not very big and only what survived the winter but THEY WERE MINE!! Wasn't even enough to add to dinner so I munched them while I was preparing it.
