  • Well not me as I am not allowed to dig at the mo - bump won't allow it, but Mr janeyo dug all the onions from the garden and the lottie (half of them have bolted) and the garlic for me at the weekend and laid them out to dry in the garage.
I spent the morning chopping and freezing the bolted ones - I really hope that when I read you can freeze onions, this is true!

    As a bonus picked
4lbs of gooseberries from the lottie bushes which were totally obscured by weeds, the birds had not spotted them! I have frozen them too in batches and also had gooseberry fool for pud 3 nights in a row - yum

I hope I get the chance to harvest more stuff and they don't trample my veggie patch and kill it all off.
Oh my lordy, that would not make me happy. I hope it wasn't as bad that it ruined anything for you.

                  • Potatoes, beetroot, last of the kale, rhubarb, last of the broad beans, white currants and three raspberries. Mr VVG had left all my black currants to rot in the week I was out of action. If I felt better I'd pan him!

                    • I am so excited to say I can finally add my own "harvest" (if you can call it that) to this thread...never grown veg or anything before but took on my first lottie in April. Was feeling really upset, because everything seems so slow and then I saw it, shining like a ruby in the earth, my very first radish! All my others had been eaten by slugs so this was about my 4th sowing. How sad am I?!? I have been in a really happy mood today with my haul, in total 2 lettuces and 5 radishes!

                          • Not so much harvested, as rescued soggy over-wintered onions from the mud, some rusty garlic, a few volunteer 'tatoes, a huge bucketful of blackcurrants, 2 yellow round courgettes (can't recall actual variety).
