Today I Mostly Harvested......

  • Garlic! I can't believe it, I grew garlic after all. And a nice size. Been lashing the water on the last couple of weeks and the odd feed when doing the tomatoes. Seems to have made a big difference. These were over wintered in the tunnel.

    • Some Rhubarb for Flummerys Rhubarb and orange jelly, only difference I added ginger to the pulp instead of gooseberries :-

        • Garlic flowers, first spuds, a handle of baby carrots, peas and broad beans, some mint, parsley.

          Made a lovely potato salad which I forgot to take to work!!!!!
          I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.

                  • Carrots and potatoes are polytunnel crops. The rest, I don't know - just have onions are o/w and ready now, calabrese 4-6" across, cabbages hearted beautifully and lettuce are my Gertrude Franck planted ones. Broadies are usual at this time of year for me.

                    • Here is a cabbage picture. I have added Rockdust to all beds this year. Maybe that's had an impact. I'm certainly having a bumper year.

                      • From the polytunnel: one cucumber, a few strawbs from the hanging baskets and a sprig of basil.

                        Plus enough Douce Provence Peas and Broad Beans to just about make up a side portion for the two of us tonight.....slim pickings!
