Shallots.
Having been keeping an eye on them, I'd been thinking "very soon now" for a few days. With thunderstorms threatened I decided last night to get them in before the rains start (as they subsequently did) as they've been drying off nicely and I don't want them to rot off. I think the onions have got another fortnight in them at least, however.
I thought it bizarre that I also picked runner beans, French beans and broad beans on the same day. Weatherwise, this has surely been the daftest year in recent times in terms of things being too late & too early.

Two courgettes, one green and one yellow, a nice sweetheart cabbage free of slugs and two large Calabrese heads.
