Today I Mostly Harvested......

Bucket full of Broad beans, a few purple French beans, courgettes and a yellow crookneck courgette which was very tasty

Beetroot, turnips, broad beans, dwarf beans, spindly waste of time spring onions, mange tout, pulled up all my red onions, and loganberries, raspberries and loads of blackcurrants!

Yesterday I got broad beans, raspberries, strawbs, beetroot and some bonus potatoes (they sprouted themselves from previous owners sowing two years ago)

Potatoes and onions. I got the children (11 and 4) to do it while I planted peas, beans and lettuce They were thrilled and, predictably, want potatoes for supper. Sometimes it is *so* easy!

Shallots.

Having been keeping an eye on them, I'd been thinking "very soon now" for a few days. With thunderstorms threatened I decided last night to get them in before the rains start (as they subsequently did) as they've been drying off nicely and I don't want them to rot off. I think the onions have got another fortnight in them at least, however.

I thought it bizarre that I also picked runner beans, French beans and broad beans on the same day. Weatherwise, this has surely been the daftest year in recent times in terms of things being too late & too early.

I knew I'd forgotten something on sunday. Most of the foliage has died off on my shallots and I was going to pick them and forgot. I'll pull them up now and hope it's not too late.

Two courgettes, one green and one yellow, a nice sweetheart cabbage free of slugs and two large Calabrese heads.
Ate a lot of raspberries goosegogs and strawberries at the plot but none made it home!
