    • French beans, onion, spring onion, shallots, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, chillis, red pepper, green pepper, peppermint (for tea), potatoes.

Really satisfying using the plot like the (almost) local shop.

      • Runner beans, French beans and sweet corn. All now in the freezer except for 2 of the sweetcorn that we had for lunch. Lovely!

        • Handfuls of cherry tomatoes (Sungold, Bajaja) and potatoes (Duke of York), 3 courgettes, 3 raspberries, 2 strawberries and a decent handful of blueberries. Absolutely agree with Ananke - its lovely to have a "shop" at the other end of the garden.

          • French beans, runner beans, radishes, a turnip and a beetroot. (And several caterpillars which the kids brought home in a plastic bottle).

            • My friends and relatives allways start our conversations with "No, we dont want any more courgettes" I chased the postman down the road today with a large courgette in my hand, God knows what the neighbours thought.

              • I've just been out to get things for the salad I'm now eating:

                purslane
                shepherd's purse
                runner beans
                Little Gem lettuce
                sage
                parsley
                chives
                mustard greens
                nasturtium flowers
                - and, by accident, a tomato that came off in my hand while I was inspecting it. It's our first ripe one but not ripe enough, so it's minding its own business on a window sill.
Is there anything that isn't made better by half an hour pottering in the veg patch?

                • Carrots, onions, courgettes, tomatoes, potatoes, kohlrabi. Absolutely brilliant to have a meal for which the only things that didn't come out of the garden were a knob of butter and a little grated cheese. Even the electricity used to cook it with was generated by my recently installed solar panels.

                    • Bush tomatoes have started to ripen, the beef ones are on the turn. Onions were harvested and drying out and the carrots have been stored in a box of sand. Hubby has been lost to the peas, I may never see him again.
