  • Very surprised to find a Sweet Dumpling squash among the courgettes - and I thought they hadn't germinated! Lots more courgettes and some more Minibell tomatoes. Wish the others would hurry up and ripen.

    • Picked some more runner beans this morning and a few Black Russian tomatoes that "feel" ripe, though I wasn't sure how deep a colour they should be. They taste yummy.

      • Very similar to yesterday for my lunch:

        purslane
        shepherd's purse
        Little Gem lettuce
        parsley
        sage
        chives
        mustard greens
        nasturtium flowers
        heal-all
        young dandelions
Is there anything that isn't made better by half an hour pottering in the veg patch?

                  • French beans, pink fir apple spuds, carrots, lettuce, spring onions, tomatoes, a mini cuc - to make potato salad (adding spring onions and garlic), grated carrot salad (adding raisins and almonds), bean salad (cooking the beans then just adding mayo) and lettuce, tom and cuc salad (adding garlic infused olive oil, lemon juice and salt and pepper for a dressing). Then ate a huge plateful for lunch!! Heaven.
