Two more large courgettes / small marrows, 1 pumpkin weighing in at 11 lb, enough runner beans for dinner tonight and some shelly beans. Oh, and seven large green peppers from the greenhouse.

Two buckets of apples offloaded on a neighbour.
Leaves from 4 sorts of kale and rainbow chard.
Radish from the GH
2 small cucumbers
Tomatoes
1 courgette
parsley
...........all going into tonight's stirfry
Feeling rather sad as I can see the end is nigh for the courgettes, tomatoes and cukes. Some plants have had their last gasp and need to be turfed out

Dug up the rest of the potatoes - some massive great things, some with slug damage, but on the whole, not bad. Also, a few runners and frenchies, courgettes, patty pans and a big bunch of parsley. Took possession of a bag full of lovely cooking apples from a kind neighbour up our street who was knocking on local doors trying to off load surplus

Busy picking and pulling still. No pun intended.
The green mutant pumpkin is moved. Did not need a wheelbarrow, but almost put me back out.
Nice pile of french beans.
More Runners.
Couple of courgettes.
Tomatoes.
Chillis (firecracker / prairie fire)
Cucumber (tough skins, but ok)
Unlikely Aubergine.
Small (ok minuscule) head of celery (there are some nice ones, but I am saving them a little longer - frost permitting)
Nice Jeanette Carrots. Lovely looking, almost too good for tomorrow's dinner.
Resisted pulling up a few parsnips.
Forgot, couple of Ramiro or Corno Rosso Peppers, I big red long un and a few greens that had been attacked by a sluf or caterpillar. Lots of green peppers and chillis still to come.Last edited by daviddevantnhisspiritwife; 08-10-2013, 11:17 PM.While wearing your night clothes, plant cucumbers on the 1st May before the sun comes up, and they will not be attacked by bugs.

It was yesterday, and I'm really annoyed I didn't take a photo, but we picked:
courgettes
aubergines
marrows
runner beans
nasturtium flowers
raspberries
herbs
carrots
mustard greens
There was so much I needed a tray to carry it all into the house! Had ratatouille for supper and the rest is waiting to be prepared for freezing, along with apples from my parents' garden. Is there anything that isn't made better by half an hour pottering in the veg patch?
