    • Oh! I'm jealous of you lot!!! I've just harvested all my butternuts cz I was worried about the weather getting too cold. My bean plants got ripped out the ground by the wind so they've gone. My courgettes are only slowly producing very small courgettes and my sweetcorn is all done. All I have left is green tomatoes and potatoes underground which I should really go and dig up otherwise I forget they're done there!!

Next year I want to plant more!! I really want to do some salad leaves as that would add to lunches everyday.

You can grow salad leaves indoors on windowsills through the winter.

        • More shelling beans. There was a courgette too, but I'll get that tomorrow or I may leave it to grow into a marrow

              • Sage, which I then blitzed with butter and froze, ready for stuffing at you-know-when; the last runners; a small head of mustard greens that I didn't realise was under an old plastic pot I wrenched up.
Is there anything that isn't made better by half an hour pottering in the veg patch?
